| Bio | Melissa was born and raised in Tāmaki Makaurau. She has been serving in ministry in the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Aotearoa NZ for more than 20 years. She spent 8 years living in and leading an intentional community (Tāonga) in Oranga – a former state housing estate in Onehunga/One Tree Hill. Melissa completed her Master’s in Applied Theology at Carey Graduate School in 2019. Her thesis, ‘Where does my strength come from?’, explored the Samson narrative in the book of Judges. Melissa currently serves as Director of Ministerial Formation for WMCANZ and Lead Pastor of Cession Community. She is married to Jacob and mum to Emily and Ariana. Melissa is passionate about languages, stories and the way we tell them. |
