This year, the Centre for Lifelong Learning celebrates ten years of equipping, encouraging, and supporting Christian leaders across Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond.
For a decade, the Centre has provided accessible and practical professional development opportunities that help ministry leaders and churches thrive. Through workshops, conferences, webinars, micro-credentials, ministry supervision training, small group resources, and on-demand learning, the Centre has become a trusted resource for pastors, chaplains, supervisors, ministry leaders, and church volunteers.
At the heart of the Centre’s work is a simple conviction: healthy leaders help build healthy churches
Director Glenn Melville, who joined Carey in 2021, is passionate about resourcing Christian leaders with training that is relevant, accessible, and practical. Glenn worked in sales and marketing prior to retraining and serving as an associate pastor and interim senior pastor. He completed a PhD exploring the emotional well-being of Baptist pastors in New Zealand, reflecting his commitment to helping ministry leaders thrive in healthy and sustainable ways.
Working alongside Glenn is Coordinator Julie Polglaze. Trained as both a pastor and a chaplain, Julie is passionate about supporting others to flourish and lead sustainably. She plays a key role in helping learners access training and resources that strengthen their local church and ministry.
Together, Glenn and Julie are committed to lifelong learning for those serving the Church. Whether through leadership development, theological training, ministry supervision, webinars, small group resources, or emerging topics such as artificial intelligence in ministry, the Centre provides resources that are both biblically grounded and immediately applicable.
As the Centre enters its second decade, its vision remains clear: to equip Christian leaders with the knowledge, skills, encouragement, and support they need to serve faithfully and effectively.
