Bio

Christian Coaching Institute (CCI) is a non-denominational, not for profit Christian organisation that exists to help Christian leaders have a greater impact through coaching. We want to see every Christian leader have a coach. While operating from its base in Melbourne, CCI has impacted over 2000 Christian leaders with coaching skills, 250 coachees and in 6 Australian states. Christian Coaching Institute is pleased to be the only government nationally accredited Christian Coaching organisation in Australia.

Christian Coaching Institute team provide Christian leadership coaching and coach training that helps leaders develop, grow, listen and respond to the Holy Spirit to fully live out God's calling with clarity and focus.

Collectively, we bring together over 50 years of coaching expertise in coaching pastors, church-planters, NFP managers and emerging leaders. Our coaching training and our coaches align with the accreditation requirements of the International Coaching Federation [ICF].

Coaching is an essential component of a genuinely Christ-centred leadership paradigm and our dream is to multiply leadership impact through coaching.

Other comments

In recent years, professional coaching has shown a significant return on investment for organisations and individuals. Coaching helps inspire and motivate people to action; to improve knowledge, increase skills and change behaviours to drive greater performance personally/professionally; as well as create greater work/life balance. Coaching helps leaders have a greater impact in their professional and personal life. Coaching helps Christian leaders finish well.

We believe that if every Christian leader had a coach, then our churches will be healthier and growing, our Christian NFPs would be making a greater impact for the kingdom and our Christian leaders would be able to lead from their calling and contribution to God’s kingdom.

Wondering how coaching can help? (taken from International Coaching Federation)

  1. Coaching can assist organisations with key goals. Within the coaching partnership, the coach will work with leaders to identify and create clarity around key goals and establish effective management strategies to ensure goals are met.
  2. Coaching can bolster creativity. A coach will support leaders in confidently pursuing new ideas and alternative solutions with greater resilience and resourcefulness. A coach will encourage fresh perspectives and provide inspiration through the questions they ask during sessions and the actionable goals they co-create with clients.
  3. Coaching can manage the change that accompanies growth within organisations. Professional coaching is an important modality for managing change—including growth. A coach will help people assess current needs, opportunities, and challenges, all while maximizing the potential they already possess.
  4. Coaching can boost productivity and effectiveness. This is especially important if leaders are taking on new roles. Coaches are trained to work with clients to inspire them to their personal and professional potential, thus increasing productivity and effectiveness. Within the coach-client relationship, a focus will be placed on learning and clarity for forward action. According to the ICF Global Coaching Client Study 70 percent of clients reported a positive improvement in work performance.
  5. Coaching can develop communication skills. The ICF Global Coaching Client Study revealed that 72 percent of those being coached noticed an improvement in communication skills. Furthermore, individuals who have engaged in a professional coaching partnership have walked away with fresh perspectives on personal challenges and opportunities, enhanced thinking and decision-making skills, enhanced interpersonal effectiveness, and increased confidence in carrying out chosen work and life roles.
  6. Coaching can help your organisation attract and retain talented staff and volunteers. If you have trouble finding great staff (or getting them to stick around), organisations need to commit to investing in staff development. Coaching is an ideal way to develop staff and value their development.
  7. Coaching can bring work-life balance into the lives of your people. A person experiencing the benefits of a balanced life is a happier person. And a happier person is a more productive person. A coach can work with people to discover, clarify, and align what people hope to achieve, including a stable work-life balance. According to the ICF Global Coaching Client Study 67 percent of clients saw an improvement in balancing work and life.
  8. Coaching can help your leaders(people) thrive. Virtually all companies who hire a coach are satisfied with the outcomes. The ICF Global Coaching Client Study found that 99 percent of coaching clients were “somewhat” or “very satisfied” with their overall coaching experience. And 96 percent of them would repeat the process.
  9. Coaching can help organisations flourish despite uncertain economic times. Coaching is a very powerful tool in the face of uncertainty—organisations of all types and sizes have experienced the value professional coaching brings including: increased performance, improved product quality, higher employee retention and morale, greater employee commitment, leadership development, conflict reduction, team building skills and more.
  10. Coaching can restore self-confidence to organisations hit hard financially. Organisations that have experienced workforce reductions through downsizing, restructuring, or a merger place extremely high expectations on the remaining workforce. Restoring self-confidence to face the impending challenges is critical to meet organisational demands. The ICF Global Coaching Client Study shows 80 percent of those being coached saw an improvement in their self-confidence.
