The Baptist Registration Categories and the Registration Development Agreement (RDA)
Baptist Registration will have five categories of registrant/leader. Click on the titles below for an explanation of how each category will meet the requirements of the Registration Development Agreement (RDA).
Pastoral Leader
A pastoral leader is defined as someone who provides leadership and pastoral care to people within, or on behalf of a faith community e.g., sole, senior, co-, care, creative, worship, children and family, youth, young adults, associate, assistant, executive.

Required: Attendance at the National Hui OR a regional hui (note the clause in the BR document for pastors with geographic and/or financial constraints). |

Chaplain
A chaplain is defined as someone who, without compromising their own beliefs, provides pastoral care, spiritual and moral support, and facilitates the faith journey of all within their specialised setting e.g., sport, school, military, tertiary, hospital, community, prison.

Ministry Leader
A ministry leader is defined as someone who performs a role that supports the work of a faith community or communities.
e.g., finance, administration, global worker (previously called a missionary), Baptist trusts, Orbit.

Required: 70% attendance at a Baptist cluster meeting (or an approved equivalent where a cluster is not practicable). NB. Global workers will require different options. Encouraged |

Kaiārahi Māori (Māori Leader)
A Kaiārahi Māori is defined as any Baptist leader who has whakapapa Māori and who chooses to register as Kaiārahi Māori.

Baptist Entity Leader
A Baptist Entity leader is defined as someone whose role supports the work of the collective of Baptist Churches.
e.g., Carey staff, BUNZ leaders, regional leaders.

Required A review of the RDA is undertaken within the Baptist entity with a view to both considering progress against the current RDA and identifying priorities and goals for the upcoming registration period. |
