Many of our churches place a high value on hospitality. We are eager to receive people in, welcome our local community, show care to refugees or new immigrants. But what about taking the more vulnerable role of the guest? There’s a lot to learn from the encounter of Peter and Cornelius in Acts chapters 10-11 about the potential for mission, mutual learning and community when we surrender the power of the host and become guests in places and among people where God might already be at work.
